With a glass of local wine in hand, enjoy a display of historic vehicles, art and photography all while exploring the grounds of this magnificent homestead. Grab a bite to eat, let the kids have a play and partake in ticketed workshops including ‘Culinary Artist’ Peter Ford, Ballarat Photography’s, Peter Kervarec and Sparkling Masterclasses with Taltarni Vineyards.
Estate tours conducted on the hour from 11am - 4pm.

Sparkling Masterclass with Taltarni Vineyards

Join Taltarni and Clover Hill and their winemaker, in a journey through the process of Method Traditionelle sparkling winemaking. The session will take you through harvest and fermentation along with blending and bottle fermentation, then finally the disgorging of the finished sparkling wine.
After that you will take part in a master class of sparkling wines and the intricacies of what makes them behave and taste the way they do. You will be able to taste current and back vintage wines from both Taltarni and Clover Hill which will provide a real insight into the sparkling wine industry in the new world.
Each participant will receive a gift pack that includes a bottle of sparkling, a sparkling stopper, a chiller rod/pourer, Clover Hill hat and a two-bottle cooler bag.

Fine tune your Portrait Photography with a Photography Workshop at the Historic Mount Mitchell Homestead.
Be inspired and come and join Peter Kervarec at the beautiful Mount Mitchell estate for an intense Portrait Photography Workshop. A young model is supplied, but you may also like to bring your own!
Come back in time with us and immerse yourself in the beautiful surrounds of a genuine Victorian homestead and farm where you will receive professional tuition and guidance for portrait photography over an intense one hour workshop. Each person will be given the opportunity to create a portrait that you will love!
At 4.30pm there will be a public judging of the best image of the day (entry is optional). The Portrait Prize Award winner will receive a 50 x 75cm canvas of the image of their choice.
Avoca Art Exhibition & Sale

Artists from near and far showcase and sell their work across the three day event. With categories ranging from Best Picture at Show, a themed Grape or Wine award, an acquisitive award as well as children and youth awards, the Art Exhibition offers visitors a veritable treasure of creative material.
Taltarni Art Show Gala Awards

Avoca Art & Gardens Precinct
Saturday to Tuesday 10am – 4pm
Gallery 127, the Station’s redesigned space created to celebrate local and regional artists across the wide spectrum of artistic display, also enables art lovers to enjoy the latest showings. This includes a one-man exhibition by national & internationally renowned landscape artist Mal Gilmour. The precinct also features a community garden centre located on the platform.

Gold Coin Donation
Take a stroll through the ‘Garden of Fire and Water’; a contemporary Chinese garden in an Australian environment that acknowledges the importance of the Chinese immigrants especially during the gold rush era. Relax and experience the garden’s many features including the pavilion, wetland, immense boulders and diverse plants. Guided tours for a gold coin donation at 1pm, 2pm & 3pm.
Collect your passport at the Avoca Wine Festival and then Tour de Pyrenees with your passport to experience cellar door events. Finish your day around the racecourse Bonfire in front of the Big Screen.
